Sukma Encounter: Soldiers injured many Naxalites, search operation continues

Sukma. There has been an encounter between police and Naxalites on the border of Sukma and Dantewada districts. About 3 to 4 Naxalites are reported to have been shot in this encounter. On information about the presence of Naxalite commander Jagdish, Sukma and Dantewada police had launched a joint operation. It is being told that the encounter took place on the hills of Kakadi, Nahari and Gogunda. At present the jawan is present at the spot. Searching continues.

According to information, the police had received information that the dreaded Naxalite commander Jagdish of Darbha Division is present with his team on the border of Sukma and Dantewada districts. After this information from the informer, the police of Sukma and Dantewada districts launched a joint operation. DRG and CRPF personnel were dispatched to the spot. The soldiers reached the hills of Kakadi, Nahari and Gogunda. The Naxalites’ hideout was surrounded here. After which firing started. There was heavy firing from both sides. Seeing the soldiers being overwhelmed by the firing that lasted for about half an hour, the Naxalites escaped taking cover in the dense forest. After the firing stopped, the soldiers are now searching.
