Student’s throat slit in Cuttack

CUTTACK: In a shocking incident that unfolded at Kuleilo Bazaar within Athagarh police limits on Monday, a Class X student, Surya Narayan Das (15) from Udaypur village, suffered critical injuries when two unidentified assailants on a black Pulsar bike attacked him by slitting his throat.

The assault took place around 5 pm as Das was returning home after attending classes at a coaching center. According to sources, the victim had stopped at a shop to buy biscuits when the two helmet-clad miscreants approached him and carried out the brutal attack. Following the assault, the assailants swiftly fled the scene, leaving the injured student behind.

Swift action from locals saw Das being rushed to Athagarh sub-divisional hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment for his severe injuries. The motive behind the vicious attack remains unclear at this point.

As of now, Das’ family members have not filed a First Information Report (FIR), and investigations into the incident are ongoing. The community awaits further updates to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this disturbing assault on a young student.
