SRM students and alumni create world records

Chennai: SRM Institute of Hotel Management (SRM IHM), which is part of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, recently celebrated its Alumni Day with a remarkable achievement. As part of the event, students and alumni successfully created a world record for preparing the most number of vegetarian burgers. A total of 3,688 vegetarian burgers were prepared in just 1.55 seconds, thereby making it to the Triumph World Records on March 1, 2025. The initiative showcased the culinary expertise of over 350 students and alumni who carefully prepared healthy millet vegetarian burgers using freshly prepared burger buns and vegetarian patties. In line with the ‘no food waste’ concept, all the assembled burgers were distributed to needy persons on the same day. The Alumni Day celebrations were attended by over 100 alumni who reminisced about their time spent at the institute and shared their experiences with the current students.
