Mumbai: Rajkumar Rao’s film Srikanth was released in theaters on May 11. The film made good collections at the domestic box office on the first day. According to the report of Sacknilk, the biopic earned Rs 2.25 crore on the first day. Srikanth is based on the life of visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. The film narrates his life struggles, how he built an empire and provided employment opportunities to specially-abled persons. Rajkumar Rao is playing the lead role in the film. Srikanth, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, also stars Alaya F, Jyotika and Sharad Kelkar in lead roles.
Ahead of Srikanth’s release, Rajkummar Rao shared how the film took him out of his comfort zone. In an interview with PTI, the star shared, “I love challenges. And, the thing that scares me excites me even more. And ‘Srikanth’ did this to me. I have never played a visually impaired person before. I didn’t know whether I would be able to do it or not. But that’s the fun where you push yourself out of your comfort zone. A lot of research had to be done. Whenever I get such an opportunity, I enjoy it to the fullest.”
Film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave Srikanth 3 out of 5 stars. He wrote, “Srikanth tells the remarkable story of a young man endowed with extraordinary vision and determination, but Srikanth does not shy away from pointing out the turning points in Bolla’s life when he came somewhat close to losing his self-confidence Ego and success changed.” In lines of carelessness.
