Speedy and proper resolution of the petition: Minister Thangam Thennarasu responds

Tamil Nadu : Finance and Environment Minister Thangam Thennarasu has informed about the petitions received and activities under the ‘Chief Minister in Your Constituency’ scheme. In response to AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami who made allegations regarding this project, Minister Thangam Thennarasu issued a statement on Wednesday: A separate department called ‘Unkas Constituency Pramukh’ was created for quick resolution of public grievances. At the end of 100 days, 2.29 lakh petitions were accepted and appropriate benefits were distributed to the beneficiaries. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the ‘Unkam Bolathayil Mukthivar’ scheme aimed at meeting long-standing needs in all assembly constituencies based on the recommendations of MLAs of the respective constituencies. Through this, special attention is being given to long-standing projects and their implementation. 783 projects worth Rs 1.5 crore have been approved under this scheme. In the year 2023-2024, 335 projects have been approved at a cost of Rs 10,946 crore, which include road facilities, medical facilities, bridges, roads, schools, colleges, bus stands. For the year 2024-2025, 468 projects have been approved at a cost of Rs 3,496 crore. So far, 1251 projects are being implemented under the ‘Unnat Bolteel Mukti’ scheme at a cost of Rs 14,442 crore. Similarly, the Mukhyamantri Janta Ke Saath project has been implemented in three phases in all urban and rural areas. In this, the complaints of the people are being resolved immediately. The scheme aims to make government services reach the extremely poor, ordinary people living in areas where government services are not easily available. He said that till last March, 225 camps were organized under this scheme and 1.09 lakh petitions were received, out of which 80,000 petitions have been resolved.
