Speeding car hits woman in Gurugram, driver booked
A 28-year-old woman was injured after she was hit by a speeding Audi car at DLF Phase 3 here late yesterday night. The driver fled away with his car from the spot.
Complainant Tanvi Verma of DLF Phase 3 told the police that she was crossing a road on her way to Pink Towns House market when the accident occurred. I fell on the road and soon passersby and shopkeepers gathered. I was rushed to a nearby private hospital. I have suffered injuries on my head, shoulders, arms and legs. I want strict action against the driver,” Verma said.
Following the complaint, an FIR has been registered against an unidentified person under Sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code at the DLF Phase 3 police station. “We are trying to identify the driver by analysing the footage of CCTV cameras installed in nearby area. The accused will be nabbed soon,” Inspector Rajender Singh, SHO of the DLF Phase 3 police station, said.
