Speaker Om Birla meets with floor leaders of opposition parties

The first two days of the winter session of Parliament ended without any discussion. There was chaos as members of both houses protested against the special comprehensive amendment of the voters’ list. On Tuesday too, the government had earlier agreed to discuss Vandematharam, but the opposition insisted on discussing SIR.

Lok Sabha adjourned till tomorrow due to severe chaos. With both the Houses likely to function smoothly even further, Speaker Om Birla has decided to meet the opposition legislative party leaders to defuse the situation, sources said. The meeting will be held in the Speaker’s Chamber in Parliament House.
