SP-Collector inspected Korba District Jail

Korba. A surprise inspection of the district jail was jointly conducted by Korba Collector and District Magistrate Ajit Vasant, Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari. During this, he took stock of the health, safety, cleanliness and facilities provided to the prisoners in the jail. During the inspection, information was given that a total of 238 prisoners were detained in 15 barracks of the district jail.

During his inspection, Collector-SP also inspected the meeting room, kitchen, men’s barrack, entrance gate, cow shed etc. along with the barracks of elderly prisoners. The Collector also visited the jail premises and inspected the security arrangements including keeping the kitchen and toilets clean, arrangements for providing food to the prisoners, taking information about health tests.

During this, he also examined various registers present in the jail and the CCTV system and control room installed for security. The Collector took information from the prisoners about their cases during the jail inspection. Collector-SP met the women prisoners in the barrack and also inquired about the well-being of the small children. He distributed chocolates and toffees to the children.
