South East Central Railway zone gets another certificate of “Eat Right Station”

Bilaspur: Bilaspur, Raipur and Durg railway stations of South East Central Railway Bilaspur Zone have been certified as “Eat Right Station”. Gondia Railway Station has also been included in this category. Earlier, Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg have received this certificate in November, 2024. This achievement is the result of a collaborative effort between the Medical Department of South East Central Railway Bilaspur Zone and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Family Welfare. The Eat Right Station certification is a testament to Gondia Railway Station’s dedication to ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality for its patrons. The implementation of this initiative has been monitored by the Food Safety Administration of the Medical Department of South East Central Railway Bilaspur Zone, which underlines their commitment to the protection of public health.

These features were found:-
Food License Compliance:- All the food stalls at Gondia Railway Station have obtained the required food license. Guaranteeing that the vendors meet the highest standards of the Food Safety and Standards Authority.

Vendor Health Assurance:- Each vendor has to undergo a comprehensive medical examination to verify their medical fitness to sell food.

Training:- All vendors have received comprehensive training (FoSTaC Training) in food safety and hygiene under the guidance of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

Audit:- Gondia station has been certified as Eat Right Station after undergoing audit phases by an audit institution recognized by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

Water Purity:- Bacterial and chemical water analysis is done in the (NABL) lab located in the Central Hospital to ensure the purity of water used in food preparation.

In this effort, the Food Safety Administration of the Medical Department of South East Central Railway Bilaspur Zone fulfilled all the above parameters to achieve this feat. In all these undertakings, the able guidance of the General Manager and Principal Chief Medical Director of South East Central Railway was received. South East Central Railway (SECR) constantly strives to provide high quality catering to rail passengers. Under this, many steps are taken to provide clean, nutritious and tasty food at railway stations and trains.
