South Central Railway: Strictness of safety procedures in train operations
Business: South Central Railway General Manager Arun Kumar Jain advised the staff and officials to follow safety protocols to ensure safe train operations. A review meeting was held at Nilaim Railway, Secunderabad today to discuss the safety of train operations across the region. SCR Additional Director General Neeraj Agarwal and heads of all important departments were present in the meeting. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six divisions – Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded attended the review meeting through video conferencing.
The General Manager directed the managers to implement safe operations and conduct frequent on-site inspections, and instructed safety-related personnel including locomotive drivers, locomotive assistants and guards to ensure safe operation of trains. He noted the presence of fire safety equipment such as smoke detectors and fire extinguishers in the region. He advised the officials to ensure adequate stocks to deal with any emergency.
