When is Som Pradosh Vrat 2024?
According to the Hindu calendar, the Trayodashi date of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month will start at 03:58 pm on Monday, May 20, 2024. At the same time, this date will end the next day i.e. Tuesday 21st May at 05:39 pm. In Trayodashi Tithi, Pradosh Kaal is falling on 20th May, due to which the first Som Pradosh fast of the year will be observed on 20th May.

Worship method of Som Pradosh fast
Wake up early in the morning and take bath before starting the puja rituals.
Take a pledge to fast in front of Lord Shankar and Mother Parvati.
Install the idol of Shiva family on an altar.
Clean the idol thoroughly with Ganga water.
Light a desi ghee lamp and decorate the idol with flowers and garlands.
Apply sandalwood and kumkum tilak.
Offer them kheer, halwa, fruits, sweets etc.
Recite Pradosh Vrat Katha, Panchakshari Mantra and Shiv Chalisa.
Pradosh puja is considered more fruitful in the evening, hence perform the puja during Pradosh period only.
Break your fast the next day with satvik food.
