Soldier injured in Bijapur, Naxalites had planted pressure IED

Bijapur. There has been an encounter between soldiers and Naxalites amid the announcement of Bharat Bandh by Naxalites. This encounter took place in Potenar forest under Jangla police station. In which two to three Maoists were shot. During the encounter, a soldier got hit by a pressure IED. Due to which the soldier has been injured, he is being brought to Bijapur District Hospital for treatment.

According to the information, on Friday, on the intelligence of the presence of Maoists of Bhairamgarh Area Committee in the forest of village Potenar under Jangla police station area of Bijapur district, a joint party of DRG and Bastar Fighter had left for anti-Naxal operation. During the operation, an encounter took place between the police party and Maoists in the forests of Potenar at around 3:30 pm. There is a possibility of 2-3 Maoists being shot in the encounter.
