Smuggling of teak wood from the forest, 4 smugglers arrested

Lailunga. Four youths along with a tractor have been arrested while smuggling Saugaun girl in Lailunga forest area. Action has been taken while transporting 11 pieces of Saugan Batta tractor from Rajaama forest. The Forest Department Flying Squad team took action under the leadership of the Ranger. The process of taking the tractor for confiscation is going on in the case of Rajaama of Lailunga forest range.

Teak wood is being smuggled in Semaria village of Forest Development Corporation range. The villagers caught hold of the tractor trolley and handed it over to the forest department. Villagers say that the game of wood smuggling has been going on in Semaria village for about two years. Kota Corporation officials were informed about this several times. But no action was taken.

According to the villagers, smugglers smuggle wood two to three times a week in pickup and tractor trolleys. This information has already been given to the employees of Rural Forest Development Corporation. No action had been taken till now but this time the Forest Development Corporation has seized a truck filled with 12 teak wood. The value of the seized wood is said to be Rs 60-70 thousand.
