Smuggler roaming with ganja arrested in Raipur

Raipur. On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh, a special campaign against drug addiction is being run by Raipur Police under the Nijaat Abhiyan. In the same sequence, on 06.04.2024, Amanaka police station received information that a person is keeping ganja with him near Chandandih railway track Kharun river ghat under the police station area and is looking for a customer for sale. Under the direction of senior officers, station in-charge Amanaka was directed to verify the information and catch the accused red handed with ganja.

On which, under the direction of senior officers, Amanaka police station went to the said place and identified and arrested a person of the description described by the informer. During interrogation, the person revealed his name as Gulab Kandra, father Brijlal Kandra, age 27 years, resident of railway side, Chandandih police station, D.D. Nagar, district Raipur, Chhattisgarh. When the bag kept with the accused was searched, it was found to contain ganja. On which the accused Gulab was arrested and 2 kg 05 grams of Ganja Jumla worth approximately Rs 25,000/- was seized from his possession and action was taken against the accused by registering crime number 171/2024 under Section 20B Narcotics Act in Police Station Amanaka.
