SK Baranwal held review meeting on projects under PM Usha

Rono Hills: Union Education Additional Secretary SK Baranwal convened a review meeting on completed and ongoing projects under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) and Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM Usha) in Arunachal Pradesh at Rajiv Gandhi University here on Friday. Baranwal appreciated the State RUSA functionaries for their efforts in efficiently implementing the RUSA projects, and urged the State Government and RUSA functionaries to take advantage of the Central Government schemes to strengthen the education sector of the State. He said that “the matter of creation of posts has to be given priority for sanctioning manpower for engineering colleges; The projects for which final installments were released are to be finished within September or October this year; And the pending DPRs for PM Usha projects should definitely be finalized and approved within June this year. Baranwal said the Center is “giving additional consideration to Arunachal Pradesh and keeping in mind the educational backwardness, the proposals submitted by the state government are being approved on priority basis.” He further explained that “Funding under PM USA will be as per the timelines of the projects, and if the timelines are not followed, the projects may be canceled or terminated without any further extension in time for completion.” He also suggested that all higher and technical educational institutions be brought under the Samarth portal, “which is currently available free of cost.” State Education Secretary Pigay Ligu assured Baranwal that, after the new government takes charge, the pending cases would be taken up on priority.
