Shri Mandir Parikrama Prakalp: 60 buses will be deployed to transport people to Puri.

Puri: Odisha government has decided to deploy 60 buses to transport people to Puri for the inauguration of Shri Mandir Parikrama Prakalp.

The Sri Mandir Parikrama Prakalp is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 17, with senior government officials visiting the Jagannath temple to check the progress of the work, reports said.

According to reports, only a week is left for the inauguration of the Shri Mandir Parikrama Prakalp of the temple. At present 99 percent work has been completed. The work will be completed by tomorrow and handed over to the government.

Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena took stock of the situation on the ground yesterday. Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister of Odisha, reached Puri today and reviewed the project work. He visited places in and around Shri Mandir Parikrama Prakalp like Yagya Peetha, Vedapath at four gates etc. Suresh Mahapatra was present along with District Collector Samarth Verma.

On the other hand, Jagannath Arpan Rath is going from village to village collecting betel nuts and rice from every house. When the chariot reaches various places, the people of the area give it a grand welcome. Rice and betel nuts collected from all the panchayats are kept in the local temple and after the puja are sent to the Puri temple. The grand inauguration of the much awaited Shri Mandir Parikrama Project is to be held on 17th.

On the orders of the temple priest, a Yagya Mandap is built in the eastern corner of the temple. The Yagya Mandap is being constructed following all the rituals mentioned in the scriptures. Guests from 60 places in the country and 30 places in the state will participate in the inauguration ceremony of the Jagannath Temple Heritage Corridor Project. According to reliable reports, Puri will remain under tight security cover from January 14.
