Shots fired outside diagnostic center in Dera Bassi

Dera Bassi: Two masked youths on a bike threatened to extort money from Apollo Diagnostic Centre in Shakti Nagar area of ​​Dera Bassi at around 12:45 pm today. One of the two youths entered the centre and gave a foreign contact number (Portugal) to the female receptionist and introduced himself as a member of Kaushal Chaudhary gang. Before the receptionist could understand anything, he left the centre and fired a shot and fled with his accomplice. The threatening letter written in neat handwriting said that one shot has been fired today and if the instructions are not followed then 101 shots may be fired. Police said, “Do not take it lightly, a warning has been given at the end of the note.” The incident has left visitors and patients of the diagnostic centre in shock. The incident took place near Dera Bassi police station. SHO Mandeep Singh reached the spot and started investigation. Police have recovered CCTV footage of the area. Both the suspects have been captured in the footage. The police questioned several people and eyewitnesses to get clues about the suspects. Several checkposts were immediately set up and phone surveillance was activated to nab them. Police said Kaushal Chaudhary had fled abroad and was now operating the Davinder Bambiha gang. The gang was involved in a bloody conflict with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the business of extortion and contract killing. SHO Mandeep Singh said, “One round was fired. We have got some clues and are working on them.”
