Shocking! Swiggy delivery boy falls from moving train

Andhra Pradesh: A shocking incident took place at Anantapur railway station when a swiggy delivery boy tried to get off a moving train after delivering the order to a customer. The video of the incident has gone viral on the internet.

In the video, the delivery boy can be seen falling on the platform while trying to get out of the moving train, but fortunately he did not come under the wheels of the train and thus narrowly escaped serious injuries. The video was captured by a passenger of the train and was uploaded on Instagram page @hey_bijay, which went viral and raised concerns on safety of the delivery partners.

It is being reportedly said that the delivery boy had to deliver the food to a customer who was traveling in the 1st AC coach of the Prashanti Express (number 18464). As the coach was away from the doors and the train halted only for 1-2 minutes, he did not have enough time to safely get out of the train after delivering the food to the customer.

The food delivery boy had to run towards the door as the train had already started moving due to which he fell on the platform in his bid to detrain.

The video by @hey_bijay in one part of the caption suggests, “For short-halt platforms, delivery partners should hand over parcels to train attendants or authorized staff instead of boarding trains. One simple step can save lives.”

Also says that the food delivery boy got off the train in desperation and fell very badly, he could have also died.
Several people have commented on the video. One user ‘badmash_bunty’ says, “That passenger should have come to the gate atleast to receive the parcel…. Maybe this could be a good thing…”,

Meanwhile, Swiggy also commented and confirmed that its delivery partner is safe, unharmed, and did not face any penalty from authorities. “@hey_bijay We’ve looked into the incident and are relieved to confirm that the delivery partner is safe, unharmed, and did not face any penalty from authorities. Safety is our absolute priority. Our protocols strictly prohibit boarding or exiting moving trains. To help prevent such incidents, we’ve further strengthened our safety training to ensure all partners clearly understand, remain protected, follow protocols and stay out of harm’s way,” Swiggy replied.
