Shock to BJP, former Union Minister joins NCP party

Mumbai: BJP is in the midst of a contemplation after the results of the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra came contrary to expectations, in the meantime it has received a big shock. Former Union Minister Suryakanta Patil has left BJP and now she has become a part of Sharad Pawar’s camp’s NCP. She resigned from BJP on Saturday itself and since then there were speculations that she might go to Sharad Pawar’s camp. She has returned home after 11 years. She left NCP and joined BJP in 2014 itself. Now while returning home, she also said that she had made a mistake by joining BJP.

She comes from Nanded, from where Ashok Chavan also hails. He is currently a Rajya Sabha MP from BJP. On one hand, the Nanded party has lost in the Lok Sabha elections and now it has received a shock due to Patil going to Sharad Pawar’s camp. The leaders leaving like this just before the assembly elections is going to increase its tension. Sharad Pawar said on Patil’s return that his arrival will help the party in Nanded, Hingoli, Parbhani, Beed and other districts. Suryakant Patil said in his resignation that I had asked for time to meet BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule many times. But he did not give time.

Along with this, he wrote in his resignation that I have learned a lot in the last 10 years. I thank the party for this. Sources close to Suryakanta Patil say that she was unhappy with Ashok Chavan’s entry and her being sent to the Rajya Sabha. She felt that she should have got this opportunity. Apart from this, she was also claiming to contest in the Lok Sabha elections, but she could not get a chance from the BJP. Let us tell you that Suryakanta Patil had also expressed different opinions from the party during the farmers’ movement in Delhi. Since then, there were speculations that she is being sidelined in the party and she can take a different path anytime.
