Shivraj Singh Chauhan vacates government residence in Bhopal
Bhopal: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday vacated the CM residence in Bhopal and moved into a new residence, B-8, 74 Bungalow, near New Market area with his family.
Before leaving the Chief Minister’s residence, Chouhan offered prayers in the temple located in the premises and had darshan of Mother Cow in the cowshed.
The security personnel and staff at the CM House bid farewell to the former CM.
“Many development works and public welfare decisions are taken in the CM House office. Today I am leaving home with joy and happiness. The history of progress and public welfare has been written in the last 18 years. I am going with many people.” Memories and meeting old colleagues,” Chauhan said.
He congratulated CM Mohan Yadav and his team and said that they should take Madhya Pradesh to new heights. “I congratulate CM Mohan Yadav and his team for taking Madhya Pradesh to new heights. I embraced the people who worked with me and they loved me very much. The people of Madhya Pradesh are my family. There are uncle and brother.” On a permanent basis, I will continue to serve the public,” Chouhan said.
Chauhan’s wife Sadhna Singh Chauhan said, “There is no sentiment, we are happily leaving this bungalow. “Many memories are associated with this bungalow.”
After shifting to the new residence, Chauhan said, “Today I have shifted to this bungalow and will work for public welfare with new energy. My role will be as a party worker and whatever duties I have as an MLA, I will perform them.”
The era of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan ended with BJP MLA Mohan Yadav taking oath as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on 13 December.
Chouhan held the post of chief minister from November 2005 to 2023, ending the 15-month rule of the Congress party after the 2018 assembly elections.
In the recently concluded Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, the BJP won by winning 163 out of 230 seats. Voting for 230 assembly seats in the state was held in a single phase on November 17 and the counting of votes was done on December 3.
