Shahjahanpur: Criminal arrested after encounter

The criminal carrying a reward of Rs 10,000 was arrested after he was beaten up in a police encounter, an official said on Sunday. Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Meena said that Imran (32), a resident of Tilhar Police Commissionerate area, returned to his home on a motorcycle on Saturday night with his friend Munna. When the police stopped him during control, he tried to stop. The police chased him and he panicked, lost control of his motorcycle and fell, the SP said. Then they opened fire and the police also retaliated, due to which Imran went into hiding. Su Socio Munna ran away. Meena told that Imran had been to jail several times in the murder case of Waqas and he was wanted under the Gangster Act and a reward of Rs 10,000 was also declared on him. Told that the accused has been arrested and admitted to the Government Medical College for treatment.
