SET exam postponed, when will the exam be held now?
Maharashtra: The date of the State Level Eligibility Test (SET), which is mandatory for assistant professors in universities and senior colleges, has been changed. As per the earlier plan, the SET exam and the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exam were scheduled to be held on the same day, so the plan has been changed and now the SET exam will be conducted offline on June 15. Dr. Jyoti Bhakare, Registrar-in-charge of the university, has issued a circular in this regard. The university had announced that the SET exam would be held on May 4. However, it was observed that the MPSC exam was coming on the same day. Therefore, keeping in mind the inconvenience of the candidates appearing for both the exams, it was decided to postpone the SET exam. A meeting of the Steering Committee was held to decide the date of the SET exam.
It comprised the Vice Chancellors of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Mumbai University, Shivaji University and two subject experts. After discussion in the meeting, it was decided to conduct the exam on June 15. The detailed schedule of the exam, syllabus and other information will be published on the university website soon. The process of inviting applications from candidates for the examination will be started in the next ten days. The examination will be conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University as per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission. Eligible candidates from the states of Maharashtra and Goa will be able to take this exam.
