Sensation after body of dancer from UP is found in Bihar’s red-light area.
Muzaffarpur. A sensation gripped the red-light area in Muzaffarpur city, Bihar, on Tuesday afternoon when the body of a 22-year-old dancer was found hanging from a noose in her rented room under suspicious circumstances. The deceased has been identified as Muskan Kumari, a resident of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Upon learning of the incident, a crowd gathered in the area, sparking various speculations. Police from the Town Police Station arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.
According to the police, Muskan Kumari had been living in the Muzaffarpur red-light area for about five years and worked as a dancer. Suspicion arose among neighbors on Tuesday afternoon when there was no movement from her room and the door remained closed for an extended period. Upon looking inside the room, her body was found hanging. The police were immediately informed of the incident.
Upon receiving the information, the Town Police arrived, secured the room, and began their investigation. Following initial procedures, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was also summoned. Experts meticulously inspected the scene and collected scientific evidence. During the investigation, fingerprints, cigarette butts, and other crucial pieces of evidence found in the room were secured and sealed for laboratory testing.
The police have taken possession of the body and sent it to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for a post-mortem examination. Officials stated that the post-mortem report would reveal the actual cause and time of death. At present, it remains unclear whether the case is one of suicide or involves other underlying reasons; consequently, the police are investigating every aspect of the matter.
The incident has created an atmosphere of panic and speculation among the residents of the red-light area, with locals offering various theories regarding Muskan’s death. However, the police have clarified that it would be premature to draw any conclusions before the investigation is complete. Officials have urged the public to ignore rumors and cooperate with the investigation. According to investigating officers, people living in and around Muskan’s room are being questioned. The police are trying to ascertain who had been in contact with her prior to the incident and who saw her last. Mobile phones, call records, and other technical evidence will also be examined to piece together the full sequence of events.
Scientific evidence collected by the FSL team will play a crucial role in the investigation. Fingerprints found in the room will be matched, and items such as cigarette butts will be analyzed. If there are indications that another person was present in the room, further action will be taken accordingly.
The police have informed the deceased’s family about the incident. Once the family arrives from Muzaffarpur, they will also be questioned to gather information regarding Muskan’s family, social, and personal life. A key aspect of the investigation will be determining whether she was grappling with mental stress, a dispute, or any other personal issue.
Officials state that the investigation will be conducted in a completely scientific and impartial manner. Future steps will be determined based on the post-mortem report, forensic analysis, and technical evidence.
