‘Seniority complex’ would fail in front of Asif Ali

Youth Congress president Rahul Mamkootathil came in support of actor Asif Ali over the distasteful incident of musician Ramesh Narayan denying award from the actor.

“The attempts to disregard this youngster with no film background, who rose to the ranks after years of hard work, would only fail. The seniority complex won’t bear fruit any more” said Rahul.Rahul Mamkootathil:Despite many limitations, Asif rose to prominence and has been in the film industry for more than a decade. The attempts to cancel him using the ‘seniority complex’ ploy would only fail. It is a shame that nobody present there had the guts to come up and speak against the atrocity that took place during the event. This resembled a scene from ‘Udayan annu Tharam’ where Pachalam Bhasi’s character praises Saroj Kumar despite knowing the latter’s shortcomings.Veteran musician Ramesh Narayan denied an award from actor Asif Ali at the trailer launch event of ‘Manorathangal’, making the situation awkward for the actor, who expressed no resentment but handled the situation with his relaxed demeanour.Ramesh Narayan even failed to make eye contact with Asif and waited for director Jayaraj to hand over the award to him. Sensing the bitter turn of events, the applause from the crowd also died down. Actor Indrajith, seated next to the musician had to witness the whole incident.Social media erupted in protest over the disrespect hurled at Asif Ali by the musician. Many empathized with the way Asif walked back after getting admonished by Ramesh Narayan. Some also praised the actor for not throwing a fit despite facing an insult in all public glare.
