Second training given to polling parties for three-tier Panchayat elections

Under the guidance of Collector and District Election Officer Richa Prakash Chaudhary, the second training was given to the polling party officers at BIT College today under the three-tier Panchayat General Election 2025. 1336 officers / employees participated in the training, who were given detailed information about the election process by the master trainers. Voting for the District Panchayat members, Janpad Panchayat members, Sarpanches and Panchs of the three-tier Panchayat will be held on 17, 20 and 23 February. The voting time will be from 7 am to 3 pm.

The master trainers said that free and fair voting depends to a large extent on the arrangements and security made at the polling station as well as the impartiality, vigilance and efficiency of the employees appointed there. Every polling officer will perform all or any of the functions of the presiding officer when authorized by the presiding officer, subject to the instructions of the Commission. The ballot paper will be in different colors for the convenience of the voters. There will be white ballot paper for Panch, blue for Sarpanch, yellow for Janpad member and pink for Zilla Panchayat member.

Master trainers made aware of the duties of polling officer number 1, 2 and 3. The polling officer in charge of the marked copy of the electoral roll will read out loud the voter’s entry from the voter list and will ensure the voter’s identity on the basis of the document prescribed by the Election Commission for voter identification. They will also have indelible ink. Polling officer number 2 will give the voter the ballot paper. The voter will first be given white and blue ballot papers for the Panch post and Sarpanch post respectively. Polling officer number 3 will give the voter a yellow ballot paper for Janpad Panchayat member and a pink ballot paper for the post of Zilla Panchayat member. Polling officer number 4 will keep a constant watch on the ballot box and will have to see that the voter puts the ballot paper in the ballot box after casting his vote. He told that a big ballot box will be given to each polling station. At some places, one big and one small ballot box can also be given. First, the big ballot box will have to be used. The small ballot box will be used later if required. The election symbols for the candidates of Panch, Sarpanch, Janpad member and Zila Panchayat member will be different. After applying indelible ink, the voter will first be given two ballot papers related to the candidates of Panch and Sarpanch post and after that two ballot papers related to Janpad Panchayat member and Zila Panchayat member will be given. All ballot papers will be put in the same ballot box. After the completion of voting, the votes will generally be counted at the polling center itself. The counting of votes will be done by the presiding officer with the help of the polling officers of his center.
