Scholarship approval should be completed within the stipulated time limit: Commissioner Dr. Saransh Mittal

Raipur. Dr. Sarang Mittal, Commissioner of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, today held a meeting with Assistant Commissioners posted in the districts via video conferencing to review their work. He stated that the process for class-wise scholarship approvals for the 2025-26 academic year in all districts should be completed within the stipulated timeframe, so that no student faces any financial difficulties in pursuing education. He also reviewed in detail the status of construction of multipurpose centers and the expenditure incurred under the PM Janman Yojana (PMJAY). He also directed that all completed works, including actual photographs, be made available as soon as possible and that all incomplete works be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
In addition, the progress of incomplete works in the seven districts of Bastar Sabhang covered under the Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana and the districts covered under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana was reviewed in detail. He directed that the incomplete works be completed expeditiously and the funds be utilized as per the rules. Commissioner Dr Mittal said that in future, before selecting a site for any new hostel-ashram or Prayas or Eklavya Vidyalaya, it should be ensured that the site does not fall under forest land or a forest of small or big bushes and there is no encroachment of any kind on that land, so that no dispute situation arises later. Before the end of this financial year, immediately prepare a concrete plan for the use of the maintenance funds and inform the headquarters and ensure the relevant use of the funds within the time limit. Also, from the new financial year, a work plan should be prepared from the beginning for the use of the maintenance funds and implemented, so that proper use of the funds is possible by the end of the financial year.
He also reviewed the expenditure against the budget received in the financial year 2025-26, the status of admissions against the approved seats in hostels and ashrams, the progress of incomplete works of 2022-23 under the PVTG scheme, the status of the formation of the FRA cell, the progress of works approved under Article 275 (1) of the Constitution for the years 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25, and the preparations for the upcoming Assembly session. He also gave necessary instructions regarding the adjustment of seats in hostels and ashrams.
