Schemes for the protection of widows should be implemented: Ramdas stressed

Tamil Nadu: PMK founder Dr. S. Ramadoss has appealed to the government to implement a scheme for the protection of widows in Tamil Nadu.
In a statement issued by him on Saturday, he said that the Tamil Nadu government’s decision to keep liquor shops open while celebrating Women’s Day is counterproductive. It is inappropriate for a government that claims to empower women to encourage their husbands and sons to become addicted to drugs. Alcohol-related violence affects women the most.
Congratulations and awards given by the government on Women’s Day will not improve their lives. Therefore, the government should implement a complete prohibition. Special schemes should be implemented to support the livelihoods of young widows who have lost their husbands to alcohol. The government should prioritize family peace over women’s economic independence.
He said it is a matter of pride that 19 of the 56 candidates who failed the civil service exam in Tamil Nadu were women.
