Pratipada date of Chaitra month is starting on 8th April at 11.50 pm. Furthermore, this date will end at 20:30 on April 9th. In such a situation, Chetichand will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9. During this period the auspicious time of puja will be as follows:

Cheti Chand Muhurta – 18:44 to 19:29.

Story of Lord Jhulelal (Jhulelal Jayanti Katha)
According to mythological traditions, it was ruled by a cruel Mughal king named Mirakhshah, who forced the Sindhis to accept this religion. To avoid this, Sindhis prayed to the river god and performed puja, mantra, fasting etc.

After forty days of worship, the river god appeared and promised the people that a divine child would be born in the Sindhi society who would save them from the tyrannical ruler. After this, Lord Varun took birth as Saint Jhulelal and saved the Sindhi people from the tyrannical ruler. Therefore Lord Jhulelal is worshiped on this special day.

According to another belief, in ancient times, when people of Sindhi community used to travel through waterways used for trade, they used to pray to the water god Jhulelal so that their journey could be completed smoothly. After a successful journey, gratitude is also expressed to Lord Jhulelal.
