Sanjay Dutt remembers his ‘guiding light’ Nargis on her birth anniversary
Mumbai (IANS) | Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt remembered his mother and iconic actress Nargis, whom he fondly called his ‘guiding light’, on her 94th birth anniversary. The actor posted a monochrome picture of his mother on Instagram and wrote: To my guiding light – Happy birthday mom. I love you and always miss you.
Nargis came to know in 1980 that she had cancer of the pancreas. He died on 3 May 1981.
One of India’s finest actresses, Nargis began her film career in lead roles in the early 1940s and continued to act until 1967. He did a small role as a child artist at the age of five with the 1935 film ‘Talaash-e-Haq’. His first film ‘Tamanna’ in the lead role came in 1942.
They fell in love after late actor Sunil Dutt saved Nargis from a fire on the sets of ‘Mother India’ in 1957. They got married in 1958.
