Sangareddy: Youth sentenced to 20 years in jail for raping a minor

Sangareddy: A POCSO court in Sangareddy has sentenced a 22-year-old man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty of raping a minor. Convict Nunaswath Prakash, resident of Tunikilla Thanda in Kandi mandal. (22) was a driver by profession. He raped a 16-year-old girl in 2019.

After the complaint, Sangareddy rural police registered a case and arrested him and produced him in court. After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge K Jayanti pronounced the verdict on Wednesday. He also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him. If the fine is not paid, the convict will have to remain in jail for another year.
