Union Home Minister Kiren Rijiju has indicated that there will be some good news by the end of 2025. Earth Sciences Minister Rijiju has said that India will be able to send its scientists six kilometers below the seabed to study the ocean by the end of next year. Rijiju, in a video interview to PTI, said work on India’s deep-sea submarine ‘Matsya 6000’ was progressing ‘on track’ and it would be tested ‘by the end of this year’. May go. This submarine will be capable of taking humans to a depth of 6,000 meters in the ocean.
He said, ‘When you talk about Samudrayaan, you talk about our mission to go about 6,000 meters, six kilometers deep inside the ocean, where even light cannot reach. I can say that as far as our ‘Matsya’ submarine, which carries humans under the sea, is concerned, its work is on the right track. The minister said he has reviewed the project and scientists will be able to conduct the first surface water tests by the end of this year. Rijiju said, ‘I am confident that we will be able to send our human crew to the sea more than 6,000 meters deep by the end of 2025, i.e. next year.’ Samudrayaan Mission was launched in 2021. Under this mission, the crew will be transported to a depth of 6,000 meters in the central Indian Ocean using ‘Matsya 6000’. Through this, three crew members will be sent for undersea studies. This submarine will be equipped with scientific sensors and instruments and will have an operational capacity of 12 hours, which can be extended up to 96 hours in case of emergency. So far, countries like the US, Russia, China, France and Japan have successfully carried out deep-sea missions. India is ready to join the ranks of these countries by demonstrating the expertise and capacity for such missions.
