Samples of 14 medicines including cancer and heart attack failed
Solan. Samples of 14 medicines manufactured in Himachal Pradesh have failed. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has issued a drug alert in this regard. CDSCO had sent samples of 1197 medicines across the country for testing, out of which samples of 64 medicines failed. Of these, the number of medicines manufactured in Himachal Pradesh is 14.
Surprisingly, out of 14 medicines, 13 medicines are produced in BBN, the largest industrial area of the state. The medicines whose samples have failed in the state include medicines for cancer, heart attack, fever, antibiotics, vitamins and calcium etc. State Drug Controller Baddi Navneet Marwah said that show cause notices have been issued to the concerned industries. Action will be taken as per rules against those industries whose samples have failed. He said that strict action will be taken against those industries whose samples are repeatedly failing.
