Ruling party and opposition are pretending to save the constitution: Mayawati

Delhi: Bahujan Samaj Party’s national president Mayawati targeted both BJP and Congress. She alleged that there is an internal collusion between the ruling party and the opposition. Both are forcefully pretending to save the constitution. Both of them are messing with the Indian constitution for their political interests, this is not right at all.

Mayawati said that the ruling party and the opposition are engaged in changing Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s constitution by colluding from within. When the anti-constitution parties were in power at the center, they made so many amendments in it that now it is no longer Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s egalitarian, secular and Bahujan-friendly constitution. Now it has become a casteist, capitalist and communal constitution. She further said, efforts are being made to ensure that people from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes do not get the benefit of reservation in education and jobs or that it remains ineffective.

The BSP supremo said that the governments of Congress, BJP and other parties are pretending to save the Constitution to divert people’s attention from poverty, unemployment and inflation. The opposition is also pretending on caste-wise census. Mayawati also targeted the SP and said that the SP, which is calling itself a well-wisher of Scheduled Castes and Tribes, did not allow reservation to be implemented in promotions. She said that people need to be cautious of this conspiracy.
