RSS chief’s brief response on donation controversy

Uttar Pradesh: The political and social atmosphere is continuously heated regarding the donation controversy related to Ayodhya Ram temple. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s reaction on this issue has come to light for the first time. When journalists in Nagpur asked him questions on this controversy, he gave a very brief answer and just said “Ram-Ram” and did not comment further. This statement has come at a time when the opposition is continuously targeting the Modi government and the RSS over the Ram Mandir donation controversy. The opposition says that when credit for the construction of Ram temple is being taken, responsibility for the alleged donation irregularities should also be taken. Earlier, RSS chief Dattatreya Hosabale and Vishwa Hindu Parishad President Alok Kumar had also given statements on this matter. Hosabale had said that this incident has hurt the faith of Ram devotees and the culprits should be given strict punishment. He also called it an attempt to defame Hindu religion and appealed to the people to exercise restraint. At the same time, after the controversy came to light, General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Champat Rai has resigned from his post. However, questions and demand for investigation against him are continuously being raised. On the other hand, the opposition alleges that the government should take responsibility for this entire matter as questions are being raised on the transparency related to the process of construction of Ram temple. At present the matter is under investigation and everyone’s eyes are fixed on the SIT report. Only after investigation will it be clear what are the real facts in this dispute.
