RSS chief visits Auniati Math in Majuli river island

Majuli: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday visited the Auniati Satra or monastery located on the Majuli river island in Assam, which follows the Brahmo Sanghati of Eksar Dharma.

Brahma Sanghati of Ekasarana Dharma is a socio-religious and cultural movement started by Srimanta Sankardev, who was born in 1449 AD.

It is one of the four “Raj Satras” or royal sessions associated with the Ahom dynasty. This is the first session protected by the state.
Satras are Assamese Vaishnava monasteries for religious practices.
Majuli is one of the largest inhabited river islands in the world and has several Sattra-Vaishnava monasteries.

Earlier on Thursday, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had said that our country is one and it is necessary that our society unites and finds solutions to its problems. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was speaking at the “Northeast Sant Manikanchan Sammelan – 2023” held at North Kamala Bari session in Majuli, Assam.
“Our country is one. There are different communities here. But what we call ‘religion’ is the same for everyone. This is humanity, this is ‘Sanatan Dharma’. It is necessary that our society comes together and solves its problems unitedly.” ..” RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said.

The RSS chief said, “The ‘culture’ of India is reflected through ‘Ekam Sat Vipra Bahuda Vadanti’ (Truth is one but it is manifested in different ways by the intellectuals). This all-inclusive tradition exists only in India.”

The RSS chief reached Dibrugarh in Assam on Wednesday for a two-day visit to Majuli, the world’s largest river island famous for its neo-Vaishnav culture and satras.

During his two-day visit to Majuli, the RSS chief is scheduled to attend meetings and discourses with spiritual leaders, satrashikars of satras (monastic institutions) in Majuli.
The RSS has long emphasized the preservation of indigenous cultural practices and traditions.
