Rourkela: Police busted a gambling den on the Odisha-Jharkhand border, two arrested.

Odisha Odisha: In a major action, the police in Rourkela, Odisha have busted an illegal gambling den running in the Odisha-Jharkhand border area. In this action, two people have been arrested and a huge amount of cash, gold and silver and vehicles have been recovered from the spot. This action of the police is being considered a major success against illegal activities in the area.
Rourkela Police team conducted raid in Luakera village under Sector-15 police limits. This action was taken on the basis of secret information, in which information about gambling operations was found for a long time. During the raid, the police completely demolished the gambling den and arrested two people present there.
The arrested accused have been identified as Brahmin Kansari (48) and Dilip Kansari (59), residents of Luakera. Preliminary investigation has revealed that this gambling den was active for the last several days and betting and cash transactions were being done on a large scale here.
During the raid, police recovered Rs 28.39 lakh in cash from the spot. Apart from this, about 400 grams of gold ornaments and 600 grams of silver ornaments have also been seized. The police have also seized three four-wheelers and four two-wheelers, which were allegedly being used for gambling operations and transportation.
Along with this, mobile phones, dice and a cash counting machine have also been recovered from the spot, which makes it clear that gambling activities were being conducted here in an organized manner.
According to police sources, such activities were going on in Luakera area for a long time, but recently the action was taken on the basis of concrete information received. After the raid, there was panic in the entire area and panic has spread among other people involved in illegal business.
Rourkela Police said that during the investigation, it has also come to light that several cases are already registered against the two arrested accused in Bandamunda and Bisra police stations, which are still pending. This indicates that the accused have already been involved in criminal activities.
Police have expressed apprehension that this case may also be related to an interstate gambling network. Preliminary investigation has suggested that more people may be involved in this entire racket, who are being identified. Police have said that further investigation in this case has been intensified and other suspects may also be detained soon.
The authorities have also clarified that strict action against illegal gambling and betting will continue. To completely stop such activities, surveillance has been increased in the area and intelligence system has also been activated.
