In fact, on May 28, as soon as the information of the chain and Mangalsutra looting from the neck of a woman in Sarkanda Police Station and Torwa Police Station area was received, a blockade was immediately done in the district. The two arrested accused have been sentenced to 10 years. The arrested Manjeet Kumar Nut (27) and Mantu Kumar Nut (28) are both residents of Jashpur. The absconding accused have been identified as Manjay Kumar Nut and Akash Nut.

According to the report written in Sarkanda Police Station, Bannu Diwan left the house to go to Bajrang Mandir at around 7 pm on May 28. On the same road, near Walia House, two unknown persons on a bike snatched a gold chain worth Rs 1.60 lakh from her neck.

After filing the report, the police immediately blocked the road. Meanwhile, in the Gurunanak Chowk police station Torwa area, two youths on a bike were found coming on the basis of the description given by the two women. When they tried to stop them, they started running away. The police team surrounded them and caught them and on strict interrogation, they told their names as Manjeet Kumar Nat and Mantu Kumar Nat.
