Road accident: Moped driver dies after being hit by an ambulance

Hariharganj: A moped rider died after being hit by an ambulance in Hariharganj of Palamu district of Jharkhand. The name of the deceased is being told as Keshav Saav. After the road accident, angry people protested on the road demanding compensation. Due to this the road was blocked for about two and a half hours. Police officials explained to the family members and assured compensation as per government provisions. After this, traffic could resume.

Moped rider dies Keshav Saav (65 years), a moped rider, died on the spot after being hit by an ambulance near Dubatiya turn on Monday on Medininagar-Aurangabad main road (NH-139) in Palamu district. He was returning to his home in Holya village of Pipra police station area after buying paddy seeds from Hariharganj. The road accident happened at around 9 am. Road blocked for two and a half hours after death over compensation After getting the information of the accident, a crowd of local people gathered at the spot. The family of the deceased and the people around blocked NH-139 demanding compensation. Later, the road blockade was removed after two and a half hours of persuasion by the police officers of Hariharganj and Pipra police station and assurance of compensation as per government provisions.

According to the information, Keshav Saav was returning home on a moped after buying paddy seeds. During this, while turning towards Pipra, an ambulance coming from behind hit him. Due to this, he died on the spot. His family members were inconsolable at the spot. Due to the road blockage, there was a long queue of vehicles on both sides. Later, the police took the body in custody and sent it to the subdivisional hospital Hussainabad for postmortem. Here, the ambulance that hit him is being identified.
