Revolver and live cartridges recovered from Civil Lines area of Raipur, two youths arrested

Raipur. Two young men have been arrested in the Civil Lines area of Raipur with a revolver and live cartridges. On 11 October 2005, the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit team received information that a man was carrying a revolver in a house near the Shiva Temple within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station. Senior officers directed the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit in-charge and the Civil Lines Police Station in-charge to apprehend the accused red-handed with the revolver. A joint team of the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and the Civil Lines Police Station conducted a raid at the house. During the raid, a man was present in the house and upon questioning, he identified himself as Amanat Ali. Upon searching his room, the team members discovered a revolver. When asked for valid documents regarding the possession of the revolver, Amanat Ali failed to produce any. During interrogation, accused Amanat Ali revealed that his accomplice Simon Pandey possessed revolver cartridges. Simon Ali was apprehended and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession.
Accused Amanat Ali and Simon Pandey were arrested, and one revolver and two live cartridges were seized from their possession. A case was registered against them at Civil Lines Police Station under Crime No. 501/25, Section 25 of the Arms Act and 3(5) of the BNS Act. Accused Amanat Ali has previously been imprisoned in a theft case at New Rajendra Nagar Police Station.
