Revanth Reddy Issues Warning to MLAs Ahead of Budget Session

Hyderabad: Ahead of the Telangana Budget Session, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy issued strict directives to Congress MLAs, emphasizing the need for their rigorous and regular attendance in the Legislative Assembly. During a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting convened to discuss the party’s strategy for the House, he expressed strong displeasure over the absence of several MLAs. Questioning their priorities, he asked whether they were so busy that they could not even spare the time to attend a CLP meeting, and warned them against remaining absent from Assembly sessions on trivial pretexts.
The Chief Minister emphasized that MLAs must be thoroughly well-informed regarding state-related issues, and directed Cabinet Ministers to set aside time to guide and brief the legislators on key subjects. He underscored the necessity of being fully prepared and instructed party leaders to keep detailed data ready to effectively counter the arguments raised by the opposition in the Assembly. Furthermore, he imposed a strict ban on interactions with the media, warning MLAs against engaging in ‘off-the-record’ conversations or informal chats with journalists to avoid unnecessary controversies. This meeting underscored Revanth Reddy’s firm resolve to maintain a united, disciplined, and well-informed front during the crucial Budget Sessions—a clear indication of his intent to bolster the party’s performance within the Legislative Assembly.
