Retired army officer’s wife battling illness commits suicide, jumps from building

TT Nagar police station in-charge Sudhir Arajaria said that Sanjay Mangal, a retired officer of the Army’s Military Engineering Service, was living with his 61-year-old wife Anita in Tulsi Tower, Bhopal. Anita was ill for the last 6 months. She used to live under mental stress due to this.

On Saturday, Sanjay Mangal had gone to the doctor to show Anita’s medical report. When Sanjay returned and rang the doorbell, there was no response from inside. Sanjay thought that his wife must have gone to someone’s house in the neighborhood, so he also asked the neighbors about Anita, but Anita was not at the neighbors’ house either. After this, he went to the basement and saw that Anita’s body was lying there. After this, the police was informed about the incident. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. The police say that Sanjay Mangal has 2 daughters who live outside, the last rites will be performed after their arrival. The postmortem of the body will be done today on Sunday.
