Reservation and delimitation for the elections of three-tier panchayats should be done on time: State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh
Raipur. An important review meeting was organized by the Chhattisgarh State Election Commission in the office of the Commission located in Nava Raipur under the chairmanship of State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh regarding the preparations for the elections of three-tier panchayats. The meeting was attended by the concerned officials of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department and the General Administration Department. In this meeting, the preparations for the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections were reviewed and necessary instructions were given to conduct the election process successfully and smoothly.
State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh directed to ensure the delimitation and reservation proceedings for the election of three-tier panchayats within the time limit. He said that the processes of delimitation and reservation are very important for conducting elections on time. In the meeting, Principal Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Smt. Niharika Barik informed about the action at the government level regarding delimitation and reservation regarding the delimitation of three-tier panchayats that the proceedings of delimitation and reservation will be completed within the time limit.
In the meeting, other topics like determination of rental rates for vehicles to be acquired for the general elections of three-tier Panchayats 2024-25 and future by-elections, honorarium of observers appointed in the election, honorarium rates to be given to government officers and employees employed for conducting elections for the upcoming general and by-elections 2024-25 and proposals sent for hiring vehicles were discussed.
Various aspects related to the election were discussed in the meeting, in which State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh directed the officials that all departments should work in mutual coordination, so that there is no chaos during the elections. He also said that it is very important to ensure the accuracy of the voter list, so that every eligible voter can exercise his franchise properly.
