Report- Mohammed Shami will not be able to play two test matches against England

In a worrying development for the Indian team, fast bowler Mohammed Shami will miss the first two matches of the upcoming five-Test series against England starting January 25, as the fast bowler is yet to start bowling after suffering an ankle injury. Have not done. , the report says.

According to the Indian Express report, Shami has not started bowling yet and he will have to go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to show his fitness.

This fast bowler was included in the Test team against South Africa but his availability depended on fitness. The BCCI later said in a press release that Shami had not been cleared by the medical team and the fast bowler has been ruled out of the two Test matches.

In another blow, world No. 1 T20 batsman Suryakumar Yadav, who led India in the T20Is in South Africa in December, is suffering from a hernia and will undergo surgery.
The BCCI is consulting experts regarding Yadav’s hernia and there is a possibility of him being sent abroad for surgery. The report states that the batsman is expected to be fully fit by the IPL.

“Shami has not even started bowling yet, he will have to go to NCA to prove his fitness. His playing in the first two Test matches against England looks doubtful. Whereas in Yadav’s case it will take more time than expected. It may take up to eight-nine weeks for them to start training after hernia operation. Hopefully he will be fit during the IPL.” a source told The Indian Express.

Given the availability of fellow fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah for the upcoming five-match Test series against England, the BCCI may take a cautious approach on Shami’s return.
