Relief for citizens as inspector of Survey and Land Records gets new office in Dharbandora
Landowners in Dharbandora taluka can now access survey and land records closer to home, as the Office of the Inspector of Survey and Land Records was inaugurated at the Government Complex Building here on Friday. The inauguration was attended by Revenue Minister Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate, Sanvordem MLA and GTDC Chairman Ganesh Gaonkar, Revenue Secretary Sandeep Jacques, IAS, Director of Land Records Johnson Fernandes, Survarna Tendulkar, Chairman of South Goa Zilla Panchayat, Sudha Gaonkar, and Dharbandora Sarpanch Balaji Gawas.
During the event, Monserrate highlighted the benefits of the new office, stating that the locals would no longer need to travel long distances to access land records and other related services. He also expressed his hope that the new office would make it easier for people to obtain land records, surveys, and other documents.
Revenue Secretary Sandeep Jacques also spoke at the event, noting that people could download land record services online, including survey plans and 1/14 forms. Additionally, he announced that the government had decided to provide a window period of 90 days, from May to July, for Cooperative Societies that have not registered their conveyance or sale deeds. During this period, they can register their documents with just 1% stamp duty and 1% registration fees, instead of the usual 7.5%
