Referendum held on completion of 100 days of Congress rule in Lok Sabha: CM Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday said the Congress aims to win at least 14 of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. He stressed that victory in the upcoming general elections will be a referendum on our 100-day administration.
Revanth was speaking in a meeting with important leaders of Chevella parliamentary constituency. The Chief Minister, who is also the TPCC president, reviewed the party’s situation in the constituency and discussed the strategy for the upcoming elections with Congress Chevella candidate Gaddam Ranjith Reddy, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, MLA T Rammohan Reddy and other senior leaders.
During the meeting, Revanth said that it is only Congress that can ensure social justice. He said that people across the state are inclined towards Congress and the party’s six guarantees will ensure the victory of its candidates.
He said that the party high command is selecting the candidates on the basis of opinion and survey at the field level.
Revanth said Chevella, Secunderabad and Malkajgiri constituencies belong to each other and the party, after detailed deliberations, has selected Ranjith Reddy, Danam Nagendra and Sunita Mahendra Reddy as candidates for these seats respectively.
The TPCC chief wanted to know what the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP has done for Telangana in the last 10 years. “Pranhita-Chevella irrigation project has not been completed.
MMTS train service has not been extended to Vikarabad. Modi took ‘Bullet Train’ to Gujarat but failed to bring MMTS train to Vikarabad. Modi, who developed the Sabarmati Riverfront in Gujarat, did not give funds for the development of Musi Riverfront,” he alleged.
Revanth also alleged that the BJP-led government at the Center is not keen on the regional ring road.
“This is a great opportunity to develop our state. Our area will develop only if Congress candidates win the Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi walked thousands of kilometers to stand with the workers and save the country.”
The Chief Minister also confirmed that the Congress is planning to hold a massive public meeting in Tukkuguda on April 6 or 7. Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will attend the meeting and release the party’s manifesto and national level guarantees.
