Red Sandalwood Smuggling Racket Busted in Kadapa; 8 Arrested

Kadapa: In the Maidukuru Assembly constituency of Kadapa district, within the jurisdiction of the Khajipet Police Station, the police have arrested eight individuals involved in the smuggling of red sandalwood.

Acting on a specific tip-off, the Khajipet police launched an operation and apprehended the accused. During the raid, officials seized 17 logs of red sandalwood and three vehicles that were being used for transportation.

Addressing the media, Maidukuru DSP Rajendra Prasad and Khajipet CI Vamsidhar stated that the accused were involved in the illegal transportation of this valuable timber.

The police have registered a case and have initiated further investigations to identify other links involved in this smuggling network.
