Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Shivsagar Municipal Committee is celebrating its centenary.

Gaurisagar: The Shivsagar Municipal Committee of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) celebrated the organization’s centenary with a day-long program at the Shivsagar Boarding Field on Monday. The program began with the flag hoisting ceremony (Dhwajarohan) by the chief guest, senior sportsperson Satyendra Neog of Dikhhmukh.

In his speech, he briefly spoke about the organization’s missionary zeal in nation-building. Later, RSS National Executive Member Ullash Kulkarni addressed the gathering as an invited speaker. He spoke about the Sangh’s 100-year journey, which now spans 42 countries worldwide, wherever there are large Hindu diasporas. Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founded the RSS in Nagpur in 1925. Drawing inspiration from the ideas of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Sri Aurobindo, and others, Dr. Hedgewar founded the RSS on Vijayadashami to rejuvenate Hindu society.

Kulkarni also said that under the leadership of the second Sarsanghchalak Madhav Sadashivrao Galwalkar, the RSS established its roots in Hindu society and developed the concept of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat or Hindu Rashtra. Kulkarni said that on completing a century of its existence, the RSS’s mission will continue with the philosophy of Sanatan Dharma, ‘Sarve Sukhinah Santu, Sarve Santu Niramoya’.
