Raped on the pretext of marriage, accused arrested

Janjgir-Champa. A young man raped a girl living in the district on the pretext of marriage. Accused Ravi Chauhan has been arrested by the police from Andheri area of Mumbai after 10 months. The accused has been arrested by taking action under section 376. The entire matter is of Shivrinarayan police station area.

According to the information received, the victim girl had lodged a complaint on 25 March 2023. Ravi Chauhan, who used to work as a driver while living in Shivrinarayan, was the one whom I met. Meanwhile, Ravi Chauhan talked about getting married. After this he raped her due to which she became pregnant. After this she talked about marrying Ravi Chauhan, but Ravi refused to marry her.

A case was registered against the accused Ravi Chauhan under Section 376 in Shivrinarayan police station and a search was being conducted to arrest the accused, who was absconding since the date of the incident. Arrests were not being made.

Meanwhile, the help of cyber cell was taken, on which information was received about the accused being in Andheri area of Mumbai. Where the police team was sent. Police detained accused Ravi Chauhan from Andheri. Ravi Chauhan used to work as a daily wage laborer while living in Andheri area. The police caught the accused and brought him to Shivrinarayan police station. An inquiry was conducted here regarding the incident. During this the accused confessed to his crime. When evidence was found against the accused, he was arrested and sent on judicial remand.
