Ranchi court issues warrant against actress Ameesha Patel for not doing film after taking money

Ranchi (IANS) | A warrant has been issued against film actress Ameesha Patel from Ranchi Civil Court for not appearing in court despite being issued summons. The case pertains to a check bounce, cheating and intimidation case filed by Jharkhand-based film producer Ajay Kumar Singh against Ameesha Patel and her business partner Kunal. In the same case, summons was issued to Ameesha Patel for appearance, but despite summons several times, she was not appearing in the court herself or through her advocate. The next hearing will be on April 15.

Argora resident Ajay Kumar Singh had filed this case on November 17, 2018 in the CJM court. It is alleged that Ameesha Patel had taken Rs 2.5 crore from Ajay Kumar Singh in the name of music making. After taking the amount, he did not take any step towards music making. Along with this, Ameesha Patel is accused of extorting Rs 2.5 crore from Ajay Singh in the name of making the film Desi Magic. As per the agreement, when the film did not release in June 2018, Ajay demanded money from Ameesha. After much procrastination, two checks of Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 50 lakh were given in October 2018, which bounced. After this Ajay Singh has filed a case in Ranchi Civil Court.
