Ramgarh: Digital steps to curb crime

Jharkhand: Ramgarh Police has taken a big digital step for crime control and quick disclosure of cases. Under this, a “Digital Criminal Monitoring Portal” has been developed and a 36-member “Crime Prevention and Detection Wing” has been formed. Information about this initiative was given by Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat during the press conference. SP said that this new technology-based system has been started with the aim of effectively controlling crime in the district and speeding up the investigation process. Complete profiling of charge-sheeted criminals will be done through the digital portal. In this, information related to the criminals’ criminal history, current status, verification details and their modus operandi will be recorded, which will speed up the investigation of cases by the police. Ramgarh Police has prepared a list of a total of 1971 criminals chargesheeted in various serious cases from January 1, 2021 to March 31, 2026. These include cases like murder, Arms Act, NDPS, robbery, dacoity, extortion, theft and vehicle theft. This list will be continuously updated by including it in the digital system. Sub-divisional Police Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, all Inspectors, nodal officers including police station and OP in-charge have been included in the newly formed “Crime Prevention and Detection Wing”. This wing will work directly under the direction of the Superintendent of Police and will also be reviewed regularly, so that the process of crime control can be strengthened. Police has directed that double investigation process i.e. dual verification of the charge-sheeted criminals will be done. If a criminal is living in another police station area, then both the police stations will jointly verify him and prepare the report within the time limit. Along with this, special monitoring will also be done on the activities of criminals released on bail. If necessary, the process like preparing dossier against them, monitoring proposal, CCA action and cancellation of bail will also be taken forward rapidly. Ramgarh Police has also appealed to the general public for cooperation. Police have said that any information related to crimes or criminals should be shared immediately, and the identity of the person giving information will be kept completely confidential. Police say that continuous action will be taken at both technical and strict level to maintain law and order in the district and curb crime.
